Punjab mission of the eparchy of Faridabad is one of the most fruitful missions of the Syro-Mal- abar Church where numerous priests and religious are toiling in the vineyard of the Lord. Among them, one mission is Alencon Spiritual Animation centre cum Jyothi Darshan Missiological cen- tre, Sadik. This centre has three major mission oriented initiatives run by the Fathers of the Khrist Jyoti Province of the Little Flower Congregation (CST).
Alencon Spiritual Animation Centre is meant exclusively for the purpose of giving animation and ongoing formation for the priests and religious who desire to spend time and days to rejuve- nate and reorient themselves. The programs are arranged in such a manner that they are able to spend sufficient time for prayer and per- sonal evaluation. MSMI Sisters of the Sanjos Province, Thalassery are col- laborating with the CST Fathers. Jyothi Darshan Missiological Center aims at conducting Mission Orient- ed Programs such as training of the Catechists, language course for the new missionaries venturing into the mission, mission related seminars, courses and mission exposure pro- grams for the Major Seminarians from Kerala and other Major semi- naries.
Little Flower Syro-Malabar Catholic Mission, Sadik was established in the year 2020 but the pastoral and evan- gelization activities began on 3rd July 2023 with the inauguration of the Sanjos MSMI Convent by His Grace Kuriakose Bharanikulangara, the Bishop of the eparchy of the Farid- abad-Delhi. Within a short span of time a vibrant Syro-Malabar Catholic community was established and now it spreads across 14 villages near and far. His Excellency Mar Jose Puthen- veettil, the auxiliary Bishop gives able guidance to the Punjab mission. Rev. Fr. Cyriac Kochalumkal CST is the mission in-charge and Director of Alencon Spiritual Animation Center.
To reach out to the peripheries and new areas for ‘ad gentes’ mission, Second Annual Bible Convention was conducted from 2-4 October 2024 in the compound of the center. Rev.Fr. Basil Mookkanthottathil, a priest of the Eparchy, preached the Word of God. Hundreds of people from all walks of life participated in the Bible Convention.
The center is initiating a new mode of catechism called, Khuda De Hazoori Vich (In the presence of God) by conducting a four phased catechetical program in which children aged between 5 to 18 are brought together to recite the prayers in a competitive manner. Even though it is not a competi- tion, the children are awarded with prizes and points are given to the mission centers. The prayers are printed and given in advance for the unanimity.
