Consecration & Inauguration of Ephatha Retreat Centre in Adilabad Eparchy
Adilabad: Archbishop Leopoldo Girelli, the Apostolic Nuncio to India & Nepal and Bishop Prince Antony consecrated and inaugurated Ephatha Retreat Centre for the faithful in the Eparchy of Adilabad. On Thursday, January 6, in the presence of priests, religious as well as the faithful of the diocese and from the neighbouring dioceses, the Ephatha retreat centre opened for retreats and faith formation of the faithful. 50 days of spiritual preparation towards the consecration of the retreat centre was concluded with the praise and worship service conducted by Rev. Fr. Daniel Poovannathil, Director, MCRC on the eve of the day. The centre can accommodate up to 3000 people. The rosary garden, stations of the cross, grotto of Mother Mary and Jacob’s well brings spiritual ambiance to the premises.
In his speech representing His Holiness the Pope Francis, Archbishop Leopoldo Girelli appreciated the ardent desire of the Eparchy of Adilabad to propagate the Word of God through different ministries like Jeevaswaram (zone-wise annual Bible convention), Pallevasam (village home mission) etc. He wished that the Lord may use the retreat centre mightily for the evangelization of twin Telugu states of Andhra and Telangana and other states of India.
Bishop Prince Antony expressed his heartfelt thanks to donors, well wishers and the faithful who provided financial and spiritual assistance for the construction of the retreat centre.
