Mercy on Wheels by Samaritan Ministry in Mandya Eparchy
Banglore: Mercy on Wheels by Samaritan ministry is a movement of Mandya Eparchy to support the suffering. Services provided by the Samaritan Ministry are assisting the bedridden, or those who shut in the four walls due to various medical conditions, help the sick and who look forward to recover, down with the stroke.
Mar Sebastian Adayanthrath, Bishop of Mandya, flagged off the 'Mercy on Wheels' on 11th November 2021 at St Thomas forane church, Dharmaram.
The mission was started with two sisters, travelling to those homes and being with them. Each forane coordinator of samaritan ministry schedule the visits in parishes under their respective foranes, in consultation with parish coordinators. These parish coordinators take the sisters and vounteers to the beneficiaries and offer the service. The team try to shift the needy to better caring places.
The Samaritan ministry join their hands with Pious associations, secular associations, hospitals and religious congregations. Ministry's ambulance will be ready for shifting the serious patients to the hospitals during the night, if the request is processed through parish coordinators.
