Benziger Home – A Shelter for the Sick

The Home gives free accommodation, free food, and free ambulance service to the patients, who receive treatment at the Regional Cancer Centre. It will benefit hundreds of cancer patients who desperately seek for a shelter during the time of their treatment at Thiruvananthapuram RCC.

Because of Covid-19 pandemic and restrictions, the patients and their families experience a lot of difficulties in their travel and also in finding accommodation outside. Benziger home becomes a shelter for them in every sense at this time. Benziger Home Project is designed as a three storied structure encompassing with 24 Patient.

This home is not just a place where
they find shelter and food, but a place of true comfort, solace, prayer and healing. Malabar Province OCD request  the cooperation of everyone to support the deserving brothers and sisters.

The Malabar Province OCD is deeply proud and honoured to name this shelter after the Servant of God, Archbishop Aloysius Maria Benziger OCD, a great Carmelite missionary in India. He was a great champion of social and charity during his 31 years of service as Bishop of Quilon. It is indeed the most fitting tribute to honour his legacy as a champion of social transformation especially in the realm of healthcare.
